Brad Pitt was interviewed by Matt Lauer on Today this morning and spent some (more) time attempting to explain his comments published in a Parade magazine interview that his marriage with Jennifer Aniston was "uninteresting."

Let's just say no one going to be racing to give Pitt the 'gentleman of the year' award. 

Pitt said his point was "The best thing I've done as a father is to ensure that my kids have a good mother" but that he didn't mean to infer anything unflattering about Jen.

"[Aniston]'s good people.  She, you know, there, there should be a statute of limitations on this."

And when Lauer  tried to read the comments on air:

"No, I, you know, please don't read it ... Because I don't read these things, by choice, I don't. I don't wanna be encumbered by any of that.  I know my intentions, and I know what I believe, and I know things get misconstrued. I live outside of, of that, and it's much healthier."

He also called Anniston a "dear friend" but noted he hadn't spoken to her..."she's a seasoned veteran."

Hollywood mega superstar Brad Pitt got himself into hot water this week when he was quoted in a Parade magazine article saying his life with Jennifer Aniston was uninteresting.

Here's what he was quoted as saying:

"I spent the '90s trying to hide out ... It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to actress Jennifer Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

During an interview with Matt Lauer on Today this morning Pitt attempted to clarify: "The best thing I've done as a father is to ensure that my kids have a good mother."

No doubt that made Jen feel so much better. 

Naturally Pitt says his comments were taken out of context.  However, it's worth noting that if Pitt really did say that he was trying to hide out in the nineties it wasn't from Jen.  The two didn't get together until the year 2000.

In fact, Pitt essentially spent the nineties dating every available actress in Hollywood.  Apparently Angelina is the only who found him interesting enough to stick with.

Waay back in 1988 when Brad Pitt first arrived in Hollywood he dated actress Jill Schoelen with whom he'd co-starred in the little-seen slasher flick 'Cutting Class.'

Around the same time he also dated Christina Applegate. When you look up late eighties in the dictionary this is the picture that comes up.

In 1989, while her tumultuous marriage with boxer Mike Tyson was falling apart, Pitt dated actress Robin Givens.

Actor Ben Stiller and art dealer David Zwirner organized a charity auction, "Artists for Haiti," at Christie's Friday night, and raised well above the original estimated value of the $10 million they expected (via NY Observer).

Four pieces at the auction set records.

The sale, which had many original works from artists specific for the event, sold for a combined total of $13.7 million.

The proceeds raised will go towards funding health and education programs in Haiti. Artists donated their works for the cause.

Some of the bigger spenders at the auction were Jennifer Aniston and her hunky actor/producer boyfriend Justin Theroux. Aniston stood by as her man bid for "Stranger #44," an abstract 2011 work of oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas, by Glenn Ligon. They paid $450,000 for the piece, which set a record for a Ligon work.

Also on the guest list was former-President Bill Clinton.

The top 10 consisted of Marlene Dumas, the top selling-lot, which went for $2 million -- way above its estimated $600,000 to $800,000, and two works by Raymond Pettibon.

The trailer for "Wanderlust," which stars Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd as an onscreen couple, hit the Internet today.

David Wain directed the comedy about a stressed out Manhattan couple who crash a commune, and it's got a fantastic cast: Malin Akerman, Ray Liotta, Michaela Watkins and Ken Marino are just the beginning.

(Aniston's current flame, Justin Thereoux, also stars.)

All of this is beside the point: the real thrill of "Wanderlust" is the recoupling of Aniston and Rudd, who starred in one of our favorite nineties' films ever, "The Object of My Affection."

Check out the trailers for both films side by side -- though Sister Hazel is no longer as relevant, some things never change.

Jennifer Aniston's real estate shopping spree continues. After purchasing two West Village apartments this spring, word comes that the actress shelled out $8.7 million for an apartment in Gramercy that she'd previously checked out this summer (The Real Deal via AMNY).

We couldn't get confirmation from the realtor, but the home is officially under contract and the transaction isn't showing up in MLS, but according to Prudential Douglas Elliman it's under contract, and the sale's been widely reported.

The 2,873 square-foot unit on the ninth floor of 50 Gramercy Park was initially priced at $10.2 million.

That's a hefty chunk more than the $6 million Aniston paid for the west side apartments, where she's currently residing with boyfriend Justin Theroux.

Cameron Diaz and Diddy were spotted making out this December at Dream Downtown’s rooftop lounge PH-D.

There were some blockbuster celebrity purchases in 2011, starting with the new L.A. bachelor pad of former-Friends star Matthew Perry.

The still-single Perry purchased a slick midcentury home in the Hollywood Hills complete with infinity pool, outdoor living room, fanciful sculptures, a $27,000 Australian-made garage door.

While this year’s theater-goers preferred big-budget franchise films, it seems at-home viewers were feeling a bit rosier. At least those renting from a Redbox kiosk.

Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston’s romantic blunder, “Just Go With It,” took the top prize of Redbox’s most-rented film of 2011.

Perhaps the flick has Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker in a teeny bikini to thank for that?

But it was good news for Sandler, considering his last flop, “Jack and Jill,” churned out little at the box office other than this gem.

Following behind the A-list rom-com were similarly-themed and celeb-filled films, “No Strings Attached,” “Rango,” “The Dilemma,” and “Due Date.”

Interestingly, Blockbuster’s Express kiosks Top 10 Rentals of 2011 differs vastly from Redbox’s, with “Bridesmaids” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” topping the list. The entirety contains a completely different set list of films.

However, Blockbuster only operates approximately 10,000 kiosks, compared to Redbox’s 40,000 nationwide.

While Redbox renters preferred comedies with a few thrillers thrown in the mix, Blockbuster kiosk customers are apparently reading Rotten Tomatoes and judging percentages.

TMZ is reporting that Jennifer Aniston just bought a four-bedroom house in Bel Air for $21 million.

The house is just another piece in Aniston's large real estate portfolio.

This beauty was designed by A. Quincy Jones, with walls of glass. The property sits on just shy of two acres.

TMZ says that Aniston gets the title to the new place tomorrow. But even if it's all just rumor, it's worth a look inside this gorgeous home.

Last night the Oscars celebrated the year's best films. Here, we toast the weekend's top ten at the box office.

Most films took a dip this weekend as a surge of new movies, including "Act of Valor" and Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds" take their place. 

"The Grey" finally falls out of the top ten while Denzel Washington and Rachel McAdams finally get knocked off their top tier spots after a two-week run.

Jennifer Aniston's "Wanderlust" started off to an unsurprising listless start—you know it's bad when Nic Cage's "Ghost Rider" sequel continues to do better despite a huge drop off.

10. Disney's "The Secret World of Arrietty" holds steady, rounding out the box office with $4.5 million this weekend.

9. Amanda Seyfried's thriller "Gone" about her missing sister had a less than spectacular start this weekend bringing in $5 million.

In the 90s, Jennifer Aniston sparked a trend with her "Rachel" haircut based on her "Friends" character's perfectly layered 'do.

While the first session with Anastasia costs a whopping $120, Aniston is a recurring client so she probably only spends about $80 per visit.

Aniston works with dietician Carrie Wiatt, RD. A consultation with Wiatt will set you back $300 and one week of the dietician's pre-made meals cost $385.

When millions of little girls across the world flip through their mommy’s magazines to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities, they’re often dumbfounded by how perfect they look. This will of course lead to lives of eating disorders, rampant self-esteem issues and the ultimate realization that they will just never measure up — all caused by a glorious thing we like to callairbrushing.

Airbrushing, or photo retouching, is an essential part of this industry. I don’t think any female celebs are okay with their image running au naturel. Everyone needs to feel pretty, and technology has made this a reality. Now, let me just say that I’m not judging anyone. If I was being photographed for something that would reach a greater audience than my immediate Facebook network, I would be a f*cking nightmare. First of all, I wouldn’t eat for months (thus sending the french fry industry into immediate peril), and I would hire the most expensive retoucher out of pocket to guarantee that I looked like a prince.

Regardless, many people take issue with airbrushing since it perpetuates myths that everyone famous is perfect. And also, sometimes it just looks completely ridiculous. For ten years, "Friends" remained one of the most popular and influential programs on television.

But in 1994, when the show's co-creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman were trying to make their idea about six friends living in New York City into a TV reality, there were countless decisions that could have, and almost did, go very differently.

In its May issue, Vanity Fair has published "The Oral History of Friends: Jennifer Aniston Almost Didn't Play Rachel Green."

The article is an excerpt from the former president of NBC Entertainment, Warren Littlefield's new book, "Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV."

In it, Littlefield spoke with the cast of "Friends" and the show's creators eight years after the hit show went off the air to reveal that there are casting decisions that could have easily gone another way—not to mention the show's name, which was almost "Six of One" instead of "Friends."

"Friends" was initially titled "Six of One."

“'Six of One' was the name of the show during the pilot,” says Karey Burke, former prime-time executive at NBC. “Then Kauffman and Crane came back with 'Friends,' which we thought was such a snore. Some people thought the show was too Gen X, way too narrow.”

Courteney Cox was originally cast in Jennifer Aniston's "Rachel Green" role.

“We originally offered Rachel to Courteney Cox,” the show's co-creator Marta Kauffman is quoted as saying in "Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV."  “But she said she wanted to do Monica, not Rachel.”

And Courteney Cox's "Monica" role was almost played by "The Facts of Life" star Nancy McKeon.

Lori Openden, former head of casting at NBC explains, “Nancy McKeon, from 'The Facts of Life,' also read for Courteney’s part. She gave a terrific performance. Warren let Marta and David make the call. They went off for a walk and came back and said Courteney.”

Demi Moore's post-rehab pics could easily fetch six figures, as paparazzi told The Daily that celebs going through personal turmoil often make for a big payday.

As one pap stated, “Whether she comes out looking really ropy or really glam and bounces back with a guy, that’s what everyone wants to see.”

$110,000: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux

X17 paparazzi agency president Frank Navarre says the couple's debut shots raked in $110,000 for his agency.

“We broke that story, and it was a very good one," said Navarre. "Everybody denied it and we were right."

Sick of "The Bachelor"?

Ben Stiller joined forces with Yahoo! to produce "Burning Love," a parody of ABC's reality show.

The spoof, which is a full-fledged series run by Stiller, features Jennifer Aniston, Kristen Bell, Malin Akerman, and Ken Marino as a firefighter trying to find love.

The antics of the girls, Aniston in a panda suit and ("Community" fan alert) Ken Jeong in drag …  isn't a far stretch from some of the attention-grabbing stunts females have done to vie for the real Bachelor's affections. 

It's kind of scary how much the parody imitates real life. And it's hilarious.

Forbes has just released its list of the  highest-paid actresses.

The list gathered numbers from May 2011 to May 2012, and includes the 10 actresses who are receiving the biggest paychecks.

While some on the list are usual suspects like Cameron Diaz, many are young newcomers. And being a part of a film franchise doesn't hurt, either.

Let's just say it pays to be funny.

10. Jennifer Aniston - $11 million

Aniston earned some of the best reviews of her career for her surprising turn in last summer's "Horrible Bosses" and followed it up with the disappointing "Wanderlust." Couple those paychecks with the money from "Friends" repeats, and her bank account is just fine. 

9. Kristen Wiig - $12 million

In addition to last summer's breakout smash "Bridesmaids," which earned $288 million on a $32 million budget, Wiig concluded her run on "Saturday Night Live" and appeared in the low-budget film "Friends With Kids."

8. Meryl Streep - $12 million

The reigning Oscar winner (and most nominated of all time) continues to average a film a year, and with her pedigree, she doesn't work for cheap.

A father who fled Pennsylvania for Hawaii has been ordered to cough up more than $32,000 in child support after a bounty hunter tricked him into returning to the state.

Joshua Garlathy was arrested after a bounty hunter promised him a role in a fake Jennifer Aniston movie, causing Garlathy to hop a plane back into Philadelphia, the Associated Press reported Thursday.

Once he was arrested, Garlathy pleaded guilty to willful failure to pay child support.

He was arrested under the state's new law that makes it a crime to leave the state in order to avoid making child support payments, according to the AP.

Garlathy was sentenced to 90 days probation as well.
